Gigi and Bella Hadid‘s father, Mohamed Hadid, apparently believes that Israelis and Nazis have many similarities. This outrageous comparison is being strongly criticized online.
Mohamed, who is Palestinian, posted and then deleted an image comparing Nazi Germany to Israel. The image listed several commonalities that Mohamed believes the two share, such as being founded on “supremacy,” expelling millions from their homes, segregating racial groups, using dehumanizing language, enforcing collective punishments, and utilizing destructive methods like gas chambers and carpet bombing. According to Mohamed, there is no difference between the two.
Mohamed also added a caption to the post, stating, “And both added and labeled the victims as Terrorists, regardless of their peacefulness of other activities. Some Palestinians and some Jews even changed their names.”
He further commented, “The whole world turned a blind eye to the horrible massacre of the Jewish population… And now they turned a blind eye on the Palestinian massacre.” While Mohamed does not condone the actions of Hamas on October 7, he is clearly critical of Israel’s response.
Mohamed’s comparison between Israelis, a Jewish state, and the group that once sought to exterminate them on a massive scale is highly controversial and undermines his point. As a result, he is facing strong criticism.
The Hadid family has been receiving death threats since the conflict escalated, which is condemnable. However, Mohamed’s actions are not helping to extinguish the flames.
In fact, it seems like he’s only adding fuel to the fire.
While Gigi and Bella have not directly addressed their father’s controversial remarks, they have made posts calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
We have reached out to Mohamed and his wife, Yolanda, for comment, but have not heard back yet.
