Ryan McKenna, the guy known for taking that legendary Super Bowl selfie with Justin Timberlake, is finding himself in hot water once again. This time, the trouble stems from some rule-breaking while on probation. According to recently obtained legal documents, Ryan was arrested in Florida earlier this month after his probation officer discovered that he had traveled out of state without permission. The probation officer became suspicious when Ryan sent an email stating he was “unsure” about any outstanding conditions for October, even though Ryan had already checked in for the month. When the probation officer tried contacting Ryan, he didn’t answer. So, the officer called Ryan’s mom, who informed him that Ryan was back in Naples, FL, where he had been previously arrested in February, leading to his probation. Here’s the problem: Ryan’s official address is on file in Massachusetts, and he’s required to obtain permission before leaving the state. When Ryan finally returned the call, he admitted to being back in Florida without obtaining permission from the probation officer. Due to this “unusual behavior,” the officer conducted a drug and alcohol test on Ryan, which allegedly came back positive for alcohol. TMZ.com
This is a major screwup on Ryan’s part, not just because he’s under 21, but also because he’s prohibited from consuming alcohol as part of his probation terms. Ryan admitted to consuming alcohol on October 12, despite previously telling his probation officer that he hadn’t. Lying to the probation officer is also considered a violation.
