Richard Moll, “Night Court” Star, Passes Away at 80

Famous for his role as the gentle giant bailiff on the hit sitcom “Night Court,” Richard Moll has sadly left us.

The actor passed away on Thursday at his home in Big Bear Lake, CA, according to a family representative. Richard portrayed “Bull” Shannon on the original “Night Court” from 1984 to 1992, alongside Harry Anderson and John Larroquette.

Richard’s bailiff character became legendary for his catchphrase, “Ohh-kay,” his shaved head, and towering 6’8″ frame. He appeared in all 193 episodes and his character was famously abducted by aliens in the “Night Court” finale.

In addition to his success on “Night Court,” Richard also made a name for himself in voice-over work, lending his talents to popular animated series like “Batman: The Animated Series” and “Spider-Man: The Animated Series,” as well as various horror movies and video games.

Outside of television, Richard had notable roles in movies such as “Jingle All The Way,” “The Flintstones,” and “Scary Movie 2.”

Originally from Pasadena, Richard pursued acting after moving to Hollywood in 1968, following his studies at UC Berkeley where he majored in history and psychology.

Richard Moll was 80 years old at the time of his passing.
