Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s breakup is breaking all the Hollywood rules. In a surprising twist, the estranged couple is showing an uncommon level of friendliness, with Kyle even showing up in person to support Mauricio on live TV.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star made her appearance on the latest season of Dancing With the Stars, sitting front and center as Mauricio and his dance partner, Emma Slater, performed their jive routine.

Mauricio’s first performance didn’t quite impress the judges, but that didn’t dampen Kyle’s enthusiasm. She loudly cheered him on, bringing their two daughters along for extra support.

Now, here’s the interesting part: Kyle and Mauricio are currently “separated,” yet they continue to live together in the same house and maintain a peaceful relationship. The split may be unconventional, but it seems to be working for them.

Mauricio’s pre-taped intro video for DWTS even mentioned his rough year and how he hoped the show would be a welcome distraction. Looks like it’s doing the trick.

Interestingly, DWTS producers actually wanted both Kyle and her close friend Morgan Wade on the show, but that plan fell through. Kyle and Morgan’s friendship has fueled speculation about a romantic relationship, but they insist they are just friends and business associates. In fact, Kyle is working on a documentary about Morgan’s life and career.

As for Mauricio, he’s made it clear that he approves of Kyle’s friendship with Morgan, and he remains on good terms with Kyle as well. They still spend holidays together as a family.
