New Orleans Saints superstar Chris Olave appeared to try and use his NFL status to avoid trouble during his arrest on Monday, but police video footage obtained by a reliable source shows that it didn’t help his case. The incident occurred in New Orleans, Louisiana, where Olave was pulled over by the Kenner Police Dept. for allegedly speeding at 70 MPH in a 35 MPH zone in his Dodge Charger. In the video, Olave can be seen admitting his mistake, saying, “That’s on me. I was just trying to get home.” However, when Olave mentioned that he plays for the Saints, hoping for some leniency, the officer simply responded with, “And?” Undeterred, Olave continued to provide his NFL affiliation, saying, “My bad, dawg. I play for the Saints, man.” Unfortunately for Olave, the officer remained unimpressed and replied, “And?”

After being informed of his arrest, Olave handed over his belongings to the police to be transferred to his father before being taken to jail. A spokesperson for the Kenner Police Dept. stated that Olave was booked for reckless operation of a motor vehicle and was later released around 11:30 PM. Interestingly, this is not the first time Olave has been caught speeding, as he received another ticket in August for allegedly going 54 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. The New Orleans Saints acknowledged the situation but declined to comment, while Olave’s brother took to social media to downplay the incident, stating, “Bro was on the way back to the crib from CVS… aint nun serious.” Currently, Olave and the New Orleans Saints are preparing to face off against the Colts on Sunday.
