Caitlyn Jenner wasn’t trying to throw shade at Kim Kardashian when she said the mogul “calculated” her way to fame – in fact, her comments were part of a larger conversation where she spoke highly of Kim.
Here’s the scoop, Caitlyn is featured in the trailer for the upcoming docuseries, “House of Kardashian,” which delves deep into the family’s journey to stardom. In the sneak peek that was released last week, Caitlyn says, “Kimberly calculated from the beginning, ‘How do I become famous?'”
While it may have seemed like a dig, sources close to Caitlyn tell us that her use of the word “calculated” wasn’t the best choice, but she didn’t mean it as an insult and this has already been made clear to Kim.
We’re told that after the trailer was released, Caitlyn explained to Kim that her words were edited to appear more controversial than they actually were – after all, it’s just a promo.
One source added that Caitlyn is proud of Kim and believes that what was shown in the 40-second clip doesn’t reflect her true intentions when she discussed her ex-wife and children.
Caitlyn was only a contributor to the Sky-produced series, so she doesn’t have creative control over what gets included in the final edit from her interview. However, we’re told that she agreed to talk with the producers with the intention of being a positive voice to defend her family’s legacy.
By the way, Caitlyn and Kim are on good terms now. If anyone understands the power of editing, it’s the Kardashians, so no harm, no foul.
