Britney Spears’ Lawyer Claims to be the “King of Entertainment Litigation” During Fiery Exchange: A Recap

Britney Spears Lawyer Declares Himself “King of Entertainment Litigation”

Britney Spears’ lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, had a fiery exchange with Jamie Spears’ attorney, Alex Weingarten, during settlement negotiations last summer. According to Weingarten, Rosengart proclaimed himself the “King of Entertainment Litigation.”

Weingarten recalls the conversation, stating that after correcting Rosengart’s false claim that Jamie authorized illegal surveillance of Britney, Rosengart began shouting about being the “King of Entertainment Litigation.”

Weingarten informed Rosengart that he was wasting his client’s money by pursuing baseless claims. However, Rosengart insisted that unless he was paid $7 million to cover his legal fees, he would file new lawsuits against Jamie and others.

Weingarten further commented, “Britney’s lawyer has wasted over $7 million of her money on nothing.”

Despite Rosengart’s recent willingness to settle with Jamie, Weingarten’s camp rejects the offer, believing that Rosengart missed his opportunity due to waiting too long. Weingarten also asserts that there was no illegal surveillance and even if Rosengart wanted to pursue that claim, the statute of limitations has expired.

In addition, Weingarten accuses Rosengart of withholding documents, suggesting that their disclosure would discredit the lawyer and undermine his client’s allegations.

When asked about Weingarten’s comments, Rosengart responded, “A known bully, he has conducted himself disgracefully in this matter, making false representation after false representation including to the court. His entire endgame is to bully and harass Britney Spears…” Rosengart concluded, “…he now continues to beclown himself with bottom of the barrel knowingly false and ridiculous statements, which we will not further dignify.”
