Actor Erik Jensen from “The Walking Dead” Battling Stage Four Cancer: Help Needed

Actor Erik Jensen from the hit show “The Walking Dead” has recently been diagnosed with stage four cancer, according to his wife Jessica. In an effort to cover the rising costs of his treatment, Jessica has set up a GoFundMe campaign that she hopes will help their family through this tough time.

Jessica Blank, Erik’s wife, revealed on the fundraiser page that he has stage four colorectal cancer. This unfortunate diagnosis comes just a year and a half after Erik survived a brain aneurysm, proving that he is no stranger to overcoming adversity.

Despite the challenging circumstances, Jessica remains optimistic. She shared that Erik’s cancer has spread to his liver, but his doctors believe they have a chance to shrink the tumors enough to perform two major surgeries and remove them completely. She emphasized Erik’s strength and resilience throughout this ordeal.

Jessica also highlighted the financial strain that Erik, like many other actors, has faced due to the lack of streaming residuals over the years. On top of that, the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike has caused significant disruptions in Hollywood. The couple now faces mountains of medical expenses, and Erik is at serious risk of losing his SAG insurance.

In an appeal to Erik’s fans and supporters, Jessica humbly asks for any assistance they can provide. She acknowledges that the outpouring of support has already been incredible, with over $97,000 raised in just one week. Their goal is to reach $300,000 to alleviate the financial burden they are facing.

For fans of “The Walking Dead,” Erik is most recognized for his portrayal of Steven Edwards, a doctor at Grady Memorial Hospital in the post-apocalyptic world. He has also appeared in popular TV shows and films such as “Mr. Robot,” “The Equalizer,” “Chicago P.D.,” and “CSI.”
